    • A soft paint brush is an excellent tool for cleaning all the grooves and vents on your dashboard and center console.

    • An old soft sock makes a perfect hand mitt for buffing the wax on your vehicle.

    • If your windshield becomes blurry when you turn your wipers on, dampen a cloth or rag with some full-strength white vinegar. Run it down the full length of each blade once or twice.

    • To help restore a license plate that is beginning to rust, spray it with WD-40 and wipe it with a clean rag.  This will remove light surface rust and will help prevent more rust from forming.

    • For a simple engine de-greasing solution, combine 1/4 cup of washing soda and 1 gallon of warm water. Pour the solution on the engine areas that need de-greasing.  Rinse thoroughly. Discard any leftover solution.

    • Establish a “bring it in, take it out” policy for your vehicle. Make sure every passenger, old or young, understands that they are responsible for all items they bring into the vehicle: books, cups, backpacks, balls, papers, trash, etc. Another tip: keep clutter to a minimum by limiting young passengers to one item per car ride.

    • Keep plastic bags in your vehicle for trash. Pick up and throw away trash each time you get out of the vehicle. Plastic bags are also great for wet clothes or muddy shoes.

    • If there are ink stains on your leather interior, try removing it with CUTICLE remover – NOT nail polish remover! Put a small amount of CUTICLE remover on the stain and let it sit for about 10 minutes then wipe it off with a soft cloth.

    • To remove tree sap from your vehicle, try using rubbing alcohol, Ardex, or a similar product. Spray the product on the sap, rub gently, and rinse well. Some people recommend using mayonnaise in a similar fashion. You may want to test the product you choose in a hidden area to ensure that it won’t harm the finish on your vehicle.

    • To remove crayon marks from upholstery, scrape the excess crayon off with a dull-edge knife or metal spoon. Use a clean white cloth and sponge the stain with a dry cleaning solvent. Before using, test the solvent on an inconspicuous area of the upholstery to make sure it is safe. Blot at the stain until the solvent is absorbed. Repeat the process as needed until the stain is gone.
